A visit by Dr Maja Fjaestad, Swedish State Secretary for Health and Social Affairs

Last week we had the great honor to welcome the Swedish State Secretary (deputy minister) for Health and Social Affairs, Dr. Maja Fjaestad, and her delegation together with representatives from our member companies from the Swedish and American life science sector in Boston to discuss the life science ecosystem and what makes Boston special as a life science hub.

We had an informal discussion hosted by SACC-NE at our office in Cambridge. Dr. Maja Fjaestad started by sharing the Swedish government’s gratefulness for all the Swedish Life Science companies in the greater Boston area and informed us about the huge interest there is from companies in Sweden to connect with companies in the Boston area. She also informed us that Life Science will be one of the priorities when Sweden takes over the EU presidency in 2023. Other topics discussed were what the Swedish government can do to support Swedish companies in the USA, and areas of cooperation.
